Summary of August Meeting

1-Trustees are already planning a Fall Clean-Up around the Church buildings. Stay tuned for date.
2-Connecting Our Community Auction & Dinner is scheduled for September 9th. Tickets on sale now for $20.00, see Jane Hart. There are still a few to be purchased. Featured for the auction: Diamond Resorts Timeshare (thank you Hamptons!), An evening at the Red Stone Castle (thank you Stuarts!), 1/2 hour performance from the Front Porch Singers, a Dinner for 8 (thank you Mary Henson and Jean Gabardi), C. H. Rockey’s latest painting of the Manitou Town Clock as a digital print (thank you Rockey!), and 9 Sunday Sketches from Rockey. The Silent auction will go up for bidding on August 24th and conclude the night of the Dinner, September 9th, at 6:45 p.m sharp.

4-Pastor Reid is on vacation for 2 weeks. In his absence worship service will be conducted on August 27 by Crystal Karr and September 3rd by Moderator, Deb Bornholdt.
5-Sept 10, Communion will be the second Sunday of September this year (September 10) with Pastor Jim┬áReid in the pulpit. This will also be Pastor Jim’s last day with us. We are planning a Farewell Celebration that will follow worship service that day.
6-Sept 17: Pastor Gaye’s first Sunday in the pulpit with a Welcome Reception after Worship Service.
7-Women’s Fellowship is planning a Christmas Bazaar for November 9th and 10th. Stay tuned for details as donations will be welcomed at a later date. The bazaar will be limited to only Christmas-themed Decor.
8-Women’s Fellowship needs helpers for Quilting Comforters. The next sessions are September 13th at 9:00 a.m. and a special session is planned for that evening at 6:00 p.m. No experience needed!
One comforter is being donated to Connecting Our Community Dinner & Auction (September 9th) and one to the November 9th and 10th, Christmas Bazaar.
