Sat., Apr. 7, 2018 10-noon, Spring Seed Swap with David Woolley of the Manitou Springs Seed Library. Bring any leftover seeds from last year. Take home new, non-GMO vegetable, herb and flower seeds. David will answer your gardening questions. This is a walk-in program. You are welcome to take seeds even if you don’t have any to leave.

 

 

Wed. Apr. 18, 2018, 4 pm, The Undercover Book Club. We will discuss Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston. Everyone is welcome, even if you haven’t read the book (or watched the video).

 

Sat., Apr. 28. 2018 at 11 am at the Congregational Church, 103 Pawnee Ave., Manitou Springs. Strategy Strikes Back-How Star Wars Explains Modern Military Conflict. What does modern military conflict have in common with Star Wars? Major Matt Cavanaugh, author, contributor to The Gazette and Manitou Springs resident, will explain how the Star Wars movie franchise has much to say about real life warfare waged in our own time and place. 30+ top military, and strategic specialists, diplomats, counterinsurgency strategists, war journalists, sci-fi writers and ground-level military officers explain the art of war through the Star Wars films. The program is 30 minutes followed by Q & A. Join us for this very interesting and educational program. Refreshments will be served. Copies of Strategy Strikes Back-How Star Wars Explains Modern Military Conflict will be available  for those interested.
