The first Souper Bowl of Caring started in 1990 with $5,700 in items and cash collected from 22 churches in South Carolina.

This nationwide project has come a long way since its inception with over $10,000,000 worth of items or cash collected for the Big Game in 2017!

We are again registering to be a part of this nationwide project this year!

You may remember a few short years ago when our own RMCUCC had a contest between our churches. We came in second or was it third place of the churches participating?

This year, let’s get into this project, big time, and donate such items as canned fruit, boxed cereal, canned chili, and of course (broth-based) soup. Items collected will stay in our food pantry that is part of Westside CARES which refers neighbors to us each week.

Theme? Of course we have one …Donate Your Height In Food!

Here’s the guide: 15 oz cans are 4.5 inches in height / cereal boxes 11 inches /
spaghetti jar or large peanut butter are 7 inches. You do the math!

Bring your donations to the church any Sunday worship service before Feb 3rd and stack them at the front of the sanctuary. Stay tuned for more info!
