To the Congregation:

With profound sadness, Council accepts Pastor Gaye’s letter of retirement. We very much appreciate her five years of service to this church and its people. Her joy, love of the congregation and passion for the Word will be deeply missed. Her tireless work in reviving our church and building relationships within it is a legacy that we will treasure.

With Gaye’s resignation, we must now begin a process that moves us forward as a church and allows us to find our next settled pastor. We believe that we can proceed with open hearts and minds, knowing that we have a clear path that will guide us.

In the next few weeks, our Council, with Lyn and I, will work with Sue Artt, our Rocky Mountain Conference Minister and Regional Judiciary Executive, to ensure that we have the pulpit filled this summer after Pastor Gaye’s last day of service (July 17). We will also form a transition team, who will begin the search for our next pastor. Pastor Sue will also assist us in finding an Interim Pastor, who will have experience with this process and in shepherding a congregation through the transition.

Rest assured that Pastor Gaye’s invested time and love have established a strong foundation upon which we can now build. In other words, the wheels will not fall off the wagon.

It is our hope that all of you will join us in approaching this evolutionary moment in our church’s lifespan with transparency, gratitude, and a sense of purpose. We will share more with you as the weeks progress.

In gratitude, on behalf of the Council,

Maribeth Peiniger, Moderator

Lyn Ettinger-Harwell, Vice-Moderator
