Have you ever had one of those days where the cook in your household says “What would you like for dinner?”
You respond something like “Meatloaf! I love meatloaf.” Then, much to your chagrin, your cook says “Great! We’re having Liver & Onions!!!”
You sit back and wonder if you really want to eat, even though your stomach is growling and you are feeling faint from hunger. You and I, and countless generations before us (including the Israelites), have faced that dilemma. Unfortunately, we will all face that feeling many times before we pass!
Because the problem is a tension between what we want and what we need!
This Sunday we will explore many aspects of that, including the very real possibility that some of you are feeling that way with respect to your new pastor!!! I can hear the dilemma now… “I really wanted a new pastor, but I’m thinking this isn’t quite the spiritual feeding I’d prefer!”
It’s ok… you’re in good company. And the one thing you can hold on to is God’s reassurance that “God will provide” what you need!
Blessings on your week and may you enjoy every meal to its fullest!
