It’s a natural human reaction, when things begin to fall apart, to go back to one’s roots, the beginning, to remember the story. Sunday begins our Summer worship series that takes us back to the beginning:
Genesis is our ancient family story—it tells us who we are, who our God is, and reminisces about how God & people have lived, worked, and survived together, as well as the trials & tribulations of being separated from God’s love & mercy.
Our worship this summer will find us weaving the stories of our faith beginnings into the Genesis Quilt—and like any quilting project—it’s a community affair. Each week, we will again tell the stories of our faith ancestors—Adam & Eve, Noah, Abraham & Sarah, Abraham & Isaac, Hagar, Lot, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, and others along the way.
Plan to join us on Facebook live at 10 am MT on Sundays for our Livestream worship service. Our scriptures this summer are our Genesis stories but we begin this week with a lament from the Psalms (Ps 137) asking, “How could we sing the Lord’s song in a foreign land?” Next week we dive into Genesis with the Creation stories.
It will be another great worship experience, so gather your household together and join us!
If you aren’t able to join us live, remember our worship video will be available later on Sunday on our church’s website for your review or to share with others. Look for our “videos” tab at the top of the website.
One of the things most lamented by folks seems to be the opportunity to get together in fellowship, so until we can do it in person, let me invite you to join us, following our Sunday livestream worship for a time of checking in and fellowship on ZOOM.
