August Programs at the Manitou Springs Library

Fri., Aug. 3, 2018 7 pm: Manitou Springs Heritage Center, 517 Manitou Ave.

The Kansas City Monarchs and Wilber “Bullet” Rogan. Presented by acclaimed sports author, historian and co-founder of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, Phil S. Dixon. Learn about one of the greatest all-round baseball players, Wilber “Bullet” Rogan, the Kansas City Monarchs and the Negro Leagues Baseball teams. Mr. Dixon is on a cross-country speaking tour. Copies of his book will be available for those interested. This entertaining program is for all ages.

Test your baseball knowledge and win baseball cards and other prizes. Manitou spring water lemonade and popcorn will be served. Everyone is welcome! Phil Dixon

Mon., Aug. 6, 2018 10-11 am, Knit One, Manitou! Laughter, conversation, tea and some actual needle work. Join us!

Wed., Aug. 15, 2018 4-5 pm: The Undercover Book Club. We will be discussing Deadly Currents, by Colorado author, Beth Groundwater. Copies are available at the library front desk.

P.S. Phil Dixon’s baseball program is really special and I hope people will attend.  I’ve heard great things from people who have seen the program.  He is on a cross-country tour. The program is fun, there are prizes and it’s good for kids, too.
