About the event

This is the summer for live music!! On Saturday, July 22, 2023, 7:00PM, J.Chang Tablada will be performing “Songs of Summer”. J. Chang will bring a contemporary concert of music and storytelling against the backdrop of Community Congregational’s historic sanctuary. One of Colorado Springs’ most beloved and prolific Music Directors, J. Chang-Tablada is known for his work with the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center at Colorado College, Theatreworks, and Millibo Art Theatre. He also served as Music Director for the Colorado Theatre Guild’s 16th Annual Henry Awards in Denver, Colorado in July of 2022. An accomplished entertainer in his own right, J frequently takes the stage himself, most recently in performances at 54 Below in New York City and in his “Sing-a-long with Jerry McCauley and Friends” concerts featured at the Green Box Arts Festival.

Tickets for this concert are $15 pre-sale online and $20 at the door. There will be an intermission with beer, wine and light refreshments. Donations are appreciated. A portion of the proceeds will go towards the mission of Community Congregational Church, the first church in Manitou Springs that resources families who are food insecure through our weekly food pantry. Community Congregational Church provides college scholarships to students in Manitou Springs through the Frank E. and Salome B. Smith Scholarship Fund, a unique scholarship program established in 1976. The church sanctuary is also a venue for several original Charles Rockey paintings.
